Before founding nü people, Markus led an international group of companies in the engineering and IT services sector. Prior to that, he managed transformation programs at Roland Berger for clients in the automotive industry as well as mechanical and plant engineering.

Markus studied Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration at RWTH Aachen University and Tsinghua University in Beijing. He later earned his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) at Fraunhofer IAPT.
